Welcome back, my friends! Over the last few newsletters, we’ve been on a journey, one that dives beyond profit margins, and day-to-day hustle. We’ve stepped into a realm where business is not just about the bottom line, but about partnering with God in a higher calling. If you haven’t read those previous issues yet, I encourage you to revisit them after this. They’ll bring new layers of meaning to what you’re about to read.
Here they are:
Today, I want you to pause. Put aside the financials and metrics just for a moment. Set your mind on a different kind of measurement PURPOSE. Why do you get up every day to do what you do? Is it really just to make money, or is there something more, a deeper assignment whispering through your business?
Reflecting on Your Why
If you’re feeling a little stuck or unsure about where your business is headed, start here: What initially motivated you to start your business? Was it the dream of financial freedom, or was there a seed of a larger vision in your heart, something that served others and honored God? Sometimes, the hustle of daily life buries that seed under stress and deadlines.
Take a moment to bring it back into focus.
A Higher Calling in Your Hands
In the story of Joseph (from our previous conversation), we saw how a single individual’s faithfulness could save an entire nation. He understood that his gifts and resources weren’t just for himself, but for serving God’s purpose. Have you asked God why He gave you your particular business idea? That question can clarify so much. When your “why” is grounded in a Kingdom calling, you’ll be amazed at how your business, yes, your very own project, becomes a vessel for transformation in the lives of others.
Shifting from Owner to Steward
One of the biggest mindset shifts is realizing you don’t own anything. That’s right, your bank account, your office, your products, even your precious time. It’s all on loan from the true Owner. How does it feel to consider that? Does it take away pressure, or does it stir anxiety? For me, it’s a little bit of both. But there’s freedom in remembering: If it’s God’s business, He will fund it. Our job is to manage what we’re given with wisdom and grace.
Questions to Ignite Reflection
Here are some simple, but powerful prompts to guide you
What real problem does your business solve, and how might it meet a deeper spiritual or societal need?
Where in your operations, finances, time management, employee relations. Do you feel God nudging you to be a better steward?
How do you truly measure your success? Is it the numbers on your account balance? or is it the lives touched and Kingdom impact made?
A Gentle Reminder
If you’re seeking practical steps on how to integrate these reflections, like tithing, budgeting with intention, or cultivating a supportive team culture, SUBSCRIBE FOR MORE.
But for now you can check out the earlier newsletters in this series. They provide a roadmap, inclusive of actionable tips, to help you practice stewardship and honor God in your business decisions.
Remember: when you build for God’s purpose, He brings the profit. That doesn’t mean we neglect prudence or strategy; it means we do it all under the banner of serving Him first.
So, as you wrap up your day, carve out some time to sit quietly. Ask God to remind you of the vision He placed on your heart. Let that vision guide you in every decision you make. Because when you see your business as a calling rather than a chore, it transforms everything, your energy, your motivation, and yes, often your results, too.
Stay courageous, stay faithful, and I look forward to hearing how you steward what’s been entrusted to you. If you’re curious to dive deeper, the previous newsletters are waiting, filled with insights and encouragement to fuel your journey.
Here’s to a week of purpose, passion, and profound reflection.
Bye for now…
